St. Chapelle to begin

Nous sommes fatigued just thinking about it

overcast 1 °C

Still without Julia, we three visited St. Chapelle, then Notre Dame. Poor Julia, made her way to work in spite of SNCF strike, so she was late in arriving & it was to be a long day. We others continued to Musee d'Orsai, had a nice lunch in their dining room & toured the galleries. It is a beautiful space, with so much to see! Finally meeting Julia & friend for dinner, we saw her little flat then proceeded to Ciel du Paris restaurant on 56th floor of Montparnasse Tower building. View was panoramic, if a little misty. The meal was excellent, helped by champagne ordered by George. The day resulted in many photos, which I will upload when time permits.

We're here

-5 °C

George, James & I arrived safely to 20 Rue Saint-Saveur in the 2nd Arrondissement. We got the petite flat organized, went out for a nice Italian lunch, and stopped into Franprix for provisions. Good thing, because we returned to the flat and each of us dropped off to sleep, leaving no possibility of organizing a concerted dinner outing, leaving serial midnight snacking as the pattern. George had selected a nice St. Emilion (4 euro only), which was not to see another dawn. We haven't yet seen Julia, she was winding up a getaway weekend in London. Tomorrow she goes to work, and we will make our reunion in the evening. Tomorrow for sightseeing, and hopefully capturing some stunning photos.

Debut Cinematic Performance of Mushu the Dog

Mushu is not going on the trip, and he is a little concerned about this. He would fit in my purse, so what is the problem?

When do we leave?

semi-overcast 21 °C

It seems we all have a million things to do still to get ready, but my mind is all on vacation already! What to do? Christmas is coming, but I am absolved from most of the traditional chores of decorating, shopping and baking, due to the trip. The only thing I miss is baking, but I got a share of that at Thanksgiving. I still am going to sing Handel's Messiah at Disney Hall before we go, along with 5 other wonderful family members and friends (and the rest of the entire audience!) ~BC
